Managed a technical team responsible for network engineering, installation, monitoring and support

• Managed the implementation of a 300 node Ethernet network and a 13 node SONET network.
• Designed and managed the construction of a 70 mile metro fiber network.
• Developed records systems for IP Assignment, Customer Circuits and Fiber Outside Plant
• Developed operational procedures covering Network Design, Equipment Installation, Network Provisioning, Network Troubleshooting, Customer Support and Disaster Recovery.

Time Warner Telecom – Vancouver, WA                                                                                   2001 - 2002

Senior Manager, TWTC West Architecture &Technology   

Managed the Western Region IP Engineering group

• Worked with my team to developed detailed plans to migrate 72 routers and 500 customers on the GST IP network to the TWTC national network.

Director of IDS Engineering and Operations  

Directed the activities of IP Engineering and Internet Operations with the goal of providing carrier class data services to enterprises, ISPs and web content providers. 

• Reorganized the Data Engineering and Operations departments resulting in more productive engineering efforts, better customer service and better interdepartmental cooperation.
• Expanded IDS data services to two new markets.
• Managed the redesign of the network resulting in improved network reliability.

Director of Local Access Engineering  

Directed the work of Local Access Engineers and developed standards for local service delivery. 

• Established the process and responsibilities associated with Local Access Engineering.
• Analyzed, tested and selected customer premises equipment (CPE).
• Managed the installation of a seven site, simultaneous videoconference demonstration.
• Prepared engineering and installation standards for metropolitan SONET transport systems.

Manager of Engineering Design 

Managed the Seattle, WA office of H&R from 1987 to 1991.

Appointed Manager of Engineering Design in the Vancouver, WA office.  Responsibilities included assessment of new technologies, strategic plan development, statistical analysis of service requirements, engineering economic analysis and development of long-range telecommunications designs.
